Terms and Conditions of Sale

USE OF THE ONLINE SHOP

Our online shop is only intended for use by people resident in the United Kingdom. We do not accept orders for individuals outside the UK. All orders for goods placed by you via the online order form shall be deemed to be an offer by you, the buyer, to purchase goods pursuant to these terms and conditions. You, the buyer, shall be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the details provided in your order and we will not be obliged to accept an order unless all details requested have been provided correctly.

YOUR STATUS

By placing an order, you warrant that:

(a)   you are legally capable of entering into binding contracts;

(b)   you are at least 18 years old;

(c)   you are resident in the UK;

(d)   you are placing your order from the UK; and

(e)   all details provided on your order for the purpose of purchasing the goods are correct.

(f)    You are a responsible consumer of alcoholic beverages

PRICES

All prices are in GBP (British Pound, £). The prices payable for the products that you order are clearly set out in the website. If, by mistake, we have under-priced an item, we will not be liable to supply that item to you at the stated price, provided that we notify you before we dispatch the item concerned. All prices are expressed inclusive of any VAT payable, but exclusive of delivery costs. You will be advised of the cost of delivery on the website at the time your order is accepted. Cane Rat Distillery reserves the right to alter the prices of the goods on offer online at any time without prior notice.

TAXES AND DUTIES

The total price we charge you for the Goods in your order includes all applicable taxes payable in the UK. 

STOCK AVAILABILITY

All of Cane Rat Distillery’s products and services are subject to availability. If we are unable to fulfil your order, we will contact you within 3 working days of receiving your order.

OPEARTON OF TOURS

All tours are exclusively scheduled through prior appointments and must be accompanied by a valid ticket or voucher. Vouchers are available to purchase via our website.

Entry and refunds will not be granted for tickets acquired through misrepresentation or deceitful means.

 

 CANCELLATION OF TOURS

We regret that no refunds are available for tour bookings cancelled less than 7 days prior to the tour. A full refund will be applicable in all other cases.

REFUSAL OF ENTRY

The Cane Rat Distillery maintains the right to refuse entry to any individual based on the following terms and conditions:

·      Age Restriction: Only individuals above 18 years of age will be allowed entry. Proof of age may be required upon request.

·      Compliance with Local Laws: All visitors must adhere to local laws regarding alcohol consumption and behaviour. Failure to do so may result in refusal of entry or removal from the premises.

·      Non-Discrimination: Entry will not be refused on the basis of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic, in accordance with anti-discrimination laws.

·      Safety and Security: The establishment reserves the right to deny entry to individuals posing a safety or security risk, as determined by security personnel and in compliance with legal requirements.

·      Conduct: Patrons must adhere to acceptable standards of conduct and respect for others while on the premises. Disruptive or inappropriate behaviour may result in refusal of entry.

·      Health and Infectious Diseases:

o   In the interest of public health and safety, the management reserves the right to refuse entry to individuals displaying symptoms of contagious or infectious diseases, including but not limited to respiratory and gastrointestinal illnesses, as well as those who may pose a risk to the health and well-being of other patrons.

o   During periods of public health concern, such as pandemics or outbreaks, additional health and safety measures, including temperature checks and adherence to any government-issued health guidelines, may be enforced for entry. Failure to comply may result in refusal of entry.

o   Individuals who have recently tested positive for a contagious disease or have been in close contact with infected persons should refrain from visiting the establishment until they have met health guidelines for safe reintegration into public spaces.

Please note that no refunds will be issued if entry has been refused due to any of the above reasons.

ACCEPTANCE

As all products and services are subject to availability, there will be no contract of any kind between you and us unless and until we actually process and despatch the goods to you. At any point up until then, we may decline to supply the goods to you without giving any reason. At the moment that the goods are processed and despatched, and not before, a contract will be made between you and us. We cannot sell alcoholic products to anyone under 18. By using this website’s shop, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and therefore of legal drinking age in the UK. For this reason, we may refuse an order at our discretion and orders may not be transferred from the customer to any other person.

PAYMENT

You can pay by any Visa Mastercard, Maestro or American Express cards. Payments are processed by Stripe Inc. Your payment details will be encrypted to minimise the possibility of unauthorised access or disclosure. Authority for payment must be given at the time of order. You will be automatically charged for your order once your order has been acknowledged. Our liability to you in connection with any order will not exceed the total price charged for the relevant items.

DELIVERY INFORMATION

Please note that we can only deliver our products to addresses within mainland Britain. This unfortunately currently excludes Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. Delivery is by post or courier. We will deliver to the address as you have entered it on the order.

Orders will normally be delivered within 4 working days of receipt. If goods fail to arrive after 14 days from date of order, please notify us via our contact page. We do our best to secure delivery within 14 days of the date of your order, but shall not be liable for loss occasioned by delay in delivery arising out of any cause beyond our control.

We cannot accept any liability for late or failed delivery if the quoted address is incorrect or incomplete. Please check the delivery address if you are uncertain.

In the event that the order is returned to us by the courier or otherwise due to non-delivery, Cane Rat Distillery gives the purchaser the option of resending the purchase at the purchaser’s expense or refunding the purchase less the cost of postage and packing. We cannot deliver to PO boxes.

If you request a delivery to a business, we shall consider the delivery to be successful, if it is delivered to a reception area and signed for by a representative at that address.

International shipping: please note that shipping charges cover only the cost of transporting your order to your country. On arrival, you may be liable for any import taxes, duties, fees, etc. as required to clear customs in your country. We take no responsibility for any failure of your order to clear customs.

RETURNS & REFUNDS

We really hope you will be happy with your purchase. However, should you feel it necessary to return an item because it is faulty or different to those ordered, we aim to make the returns process as simple as possible. If you believe that there is a product quality issue, then please contact us on info@canerat.com. We must be notified of damaged goods within 2 days of delivery. We will, via Stripe, Inc., refund the credit/debit card used to make the purchase including the original postage charges incurred on your order, once we receive the items back. Purchasers may cancel the order by informing Cane Rat Distillery up to 7 days after receiving the order. Goods must be returned unopened, sealed and in original condition within 7 days of the date cancelled. Cane Rat Distillery will refund the purchase within 30 days of you notifying us about the return. The cost of returning the product is the responsibility of the purchaser. Liability for loss or damage during transit is also the responsibility of the purchaser.

Cane RatDistillery.com is hosted on Squarespace. Squarespace collects, and makes available to us, information about our website visitors. Cane Rat Distillery collects (via Squarespace) non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as your IP address, location, browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Our purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how our visitors use our website.

We do not collect or store your name or address in our website analytics. The information that we do collect helps us investigate whether our website meets its users’ needs as well as to evaluate how our website can be improved. NEWSLETTERS

To provide our newsletters, we request contact details including but not limited to – your name and email address. This information is collected and stored via a third party service, MailChimp, and their Privacy Policy can be viewed here https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/ You can opt out of receiving these newsletters at any time by clicking/tapping the Unsubscribe link in the newsletter.

Data collected via online contact/enquiry forms is only done with your consent and is retained on a secure database.  We store this data indefinitely after your last communication with us, unless you withdraw consent. If you withdraw consent, it will be deleted within a month. You can withdraw consent by contacting using the details at the top of this page.

SOCIAL MEDIA

When you use a social media platform, details about how your personal information is held, is described within the relevant social media policy, such as Meta (Facebook, Instagram and Threads),or X (Twitter)

If you send us a private or direct message via social media the message will be retained on the social media platform indefinitely, unless you request its deletion. Messages requested for deletion will be done so within a month. Messages will not be shared by any other organisations.

Our legal basis for processing this information is contract and we do so to fulfil a service to you.

If you book or pay for any products or services through our website, we will collect personal information in order to take the necessary steps in preparation of, or to fulfil our obligations under, a sales contract:
